Coming Up! Precinct & County Conventions

The Wilson County Republican Party Precinct and County Conventions will be held on the same day, March 19, 2016 at the Wilson County Show Barn, on Hwy 97 in Floresville.   If you plan to attend the precinct convention, you must vote in the Texas Primary on March 1st.  All county Republican primary voters are welcome.

On March 19, 2016, registration begins at 9:00 a.m.  Start time for Precinct Conventions is 9:30; Lunch at 11:30 a.m., and the County Convention begins at 12:30 p.m.

What is a precinct or county convention?  Participants at the precinct convention first elect permanent convention officers, usually a convention chair and secretary. They then elect delegates and alternates to the county convention.  Finally, they consider and vote on any resolutions presented by a participant.  If you’d like to see a change in the national or Texas State GOP platform, it begins here.  Many of these resolutions later become Texas Law if picked up by the Texas House or Senate.

After lunch, the Wilson County Republican County Convention will begin where platform issues from the precinct conventions will be voted on and delegates to the Texas GOP State Convention will be identified.

If you cannot attend the Precinct Convention, but want to attend the County Convention, notify your Precinct Chair.

2016 Lincoln Day Dinner

The WCRP has a single fund raiser each year and it is the annual Lincoln Day Dinner which will be held on Feb 18 at the Floresville Event Center.  The purpose of the fund raiser is to support Republican candidates and help to get them elected into office.  Our guest speaker this year is the Honorable Mr. Nathan Macias, Executive Director, Patriot Academy.  This is a great opportunity to meet & mingle with local & regional candidates and meet fellow Republicans in your community.  Tickets are available from Alene Quinney at 830-996-3735 for $30 each.  Please support our Wilson County Republican Party by attending and/or providing an item for the silent or live auction.  The auctioneer will be our own State Representative John Kuemple!  A link is below to print the poster for display.  We hope to see you there!
